A Royal Billfish Slam re- quires catching nine different species of billfish, under IGFA rules: Pacific & Atlantic blue mar- lin, black marlin, striped marlin, white marlin, Pacific & Atlantic sailfish, spearfish and swordfish. What’s more is that one of Scott’s slams was tagged with TBF tags, also believed to be an angling first. According to IGFA, 119 anglers have scored a Royal Billfish Slam in their angling careers, but no one has done it twice in a twelve-month period…except Scott. The quest took Scott around the globe, Cap Canna, Dominican Republic; Kona, Hawaii; Exmouth, West Australia; Los Suenos, Costa Rica: and of course spots close to home like Stuart, Palm Beach and Miami. “I was fortunate to have been invited to fish with some of the best owners, captains, and crews around the world. This unbelievable achievement would have never been possible without their invaluable skill, knowledge and expertise,” said Scott. His impressive angling feat would have been a shoo-in for the WPBFC’s annual International Angling trophy, but the 12-month period took place within two different years. Congratulations, Scott, on your incredible journey into angling history!
