The chairs, originally various colors, were painted with blue automotive paint at Bev Smith Ford’s body shop courtesy of then Fish- ing Club board member Nick Smith in the early 1990’s. While there was quite a bit of sentimental attachment to these classic chairs, they sim- ply were no longer practical for use at regular club meet- ings and special functions. The chairs were replaced with heavy duty folding chairs that provide more back support for visitors. The new folding chairs, while not as nostal- gic, gives the club more flexibility during meetings and special events. The vintage metal chairs were sold to club members on a first come, first served basis…and they went fast! Thanks to all those who purchased a little piece of Fishing Club history! The digital age has finally arrived at your West Palm B each F i sh i n g Club. A new 90" high definition flat screen TV inter- faced with a touch screen laptop has been installed in the main meeting room. The presentation system also features all the necessary hook-ups for any and all mobile devices. The system is already finding frequent use at club meetings. Special thanks to club member Johannes Csonka and his crew at PC LAN Techs for their professional instal- lation and technical support. Club Ornaments Available Club member Pate Mullins has hand crafted a limited supply of unique Fishing Club ornaments. These one-of-a-kind pieces are sure to become collectibles. They avail- able for $25 each and make great gifts for club enthusiasts. The City of West Palm Beach has produced a fabulous video commemorating the Fishing Club’s milestone 80th anniversary, which is currently running on the city’s TV18 television station. The WPBFC’s many community and conservation contributions are highlighted in the 28-min- ute program. “The piece does an outstanding job of telling the Fishing Club’s unique story and defining who we are as an organization. Its something that anyone will enjoy seeing and really speaks to the club's wonderful legacy,” said WPBFC Chairman Pete Schulz. Special thanks to West Palm Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio and broadcast coor- dinator Robert M. Telford for helping make this video a reality. A link to the video can be found on the home page of the club’s website. Mayor Muoio addresses board members from the Wildlife Foundation of Florida during a function held at the WPBFC clubhouse late last year. Her visit to the club prompted the production of the 80th Anniversary video.
